10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Survivor Series

1. The Gobbledy Gooker Was A Total Disaster In 1990

It was one of the most hyped up reveals in the history of wrestling. Survivor Series 1990. WWE had been making a big deal about this egg that was going to hatch at the event. I can remember being 10 years old and watching this show with my friends hoping it would be something really cool. Then the egg hatched with "Mean" Gene Okerlund. There it was. The Gobbledy Gooker. Huh? The name wasn't like anything we had ever seen before. It was a dude dressed up in a turkey outfit. As mentioned before, Survivor Series is the annual WWE Thanksgiving event and since people eat turkey that day, they decided to make a joke of things by bringing out the Gooker for all to see. It was Hector Guerrero (Eddie's borther) in the costume. After the Gooker hatched, it was met with complete silence. Poor Mean Gene tried to get through the interview by asking it if gobbling is all that it did. Then Gene went to the ring and danced with the Gooker while those of us watching at home were wondering what was happening. http://youtu.be/JODV1xJNlrU Maybe it was funny to Vince McMahon and WWE's decision makers when they thought of something to fill up 7 minutes at that show. However, it's 24 years later and people still remember this is as one of the worst things that WWE ever did. They can make jokes about it all they want, but WWE definitely wants us to forget that they came up with the Gobbledy Gooker.
