10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Triple H

3. WrestleMania 20 Main Event

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzKT0v16gWM The main event of WrestleMania 20 is one of the most talked about matches in WWE history among online fans simply because of who was involved in it. It's not necessarily talked about because it's an awesome match. It's talked about because Chris Benoit was in it. As most fans know, WWE has done all they can to distance themselves from Benoit by refusing to acknowledge anything he did in his career. It makes sense considering he murdered his wife and son along with himself. In the recent "Mr. WrestleMania" DVD about Shawn Michaels, all of his WrestleMania matches are included...except this one. If you watch the actual match then you know it's one of the best matches in WrestleMania history. In terms of three way matches, few of them have ever been better than this. Benoit and Michaels were as good as anybody in the ring at this time. Hunter was also performing at a very high level. His presence made the Benoit win a huge deal because when Benoit won he did so by beating the dominant World Champion. It was a big deal. They did the Benoit/Michaels/HHH triple threat at Backlash 2004 with Benoit winning again. That's another match that WWE will never bring up. There were plenty of other Triple H matches against Benoit at events like No Mercy 2000, Vengeance 2004 and of course they had a 60 minute Ironman match in the summer of 2004 as well. It was a very good rivalry for many years. Even though WWE refuses to acknowledge this historic match on their television show, it will be available on the WWE Network that is launching next week in America. There will be an advisory prior to any show that Benoit was involved in. When talking about Triple H's career, you can discuss a lot of great matches. Just don't mention this one.
