10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Undertaker

5. After Defeating Big Boss Man At WrestleMania 15, He Hung Him

The Undertaker's match against the Big Boss Man at WrestleMania 15 cannot be considered a classic. It was a below average match that saw Undertaker win rather easily while the fans in attendance didn't believe that Boss Man had much of a chance. It's also a match that took place inside Hell in a Cell although it's clearly not one of the best Hell in a Cell matches ever. What was noteworthy is what happened after the match was over. The Undertaker was becoming a demon-like character that set out to torment WWE Chairman Vince McMahon any way that he could. He became the personification of evil. He showed no concern for any other man. It was all about torturing others. Following Undertaker's decisive win over Boss Man, Undertaker put a noose around the neck of Boss Man. He was assisted by Gangrel, Edge & Christian (The Brood) as they tied the rope to the top of the cell. Paul Bearer pushed the button to raise the cell and Boss Man ended up being hung by the neck. Boss Man's body went limp. The lights went out and Boss Man appeared to be fine. Michael Cole, on commentary, kept wondering if it was symbolic because that was WWE's way of telling the fans that it's just an angle. However, it was very controversial that WWE would even try such a thing because it was so over the top. A hanging inside a wrestling ring? It's crazy to think that it even happened, but there it was at a major show like a WrestleMania. The Attitude Era was about pushing buttons. That was one angle that pushed things as far as they could go.
