10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About 2019

1. Any & All "Blood Money" Criticism

Vince McMahon Triple H Turki Al Sheik

Whether you agree with WWE's right to do business in the country or not, it's true that a vocal portion of the wrestling community don't think Vince McMahon should be raking in cash from the Saudi Arabian government due to real-world events. Their arguments cannot be ignored.

Some superstars pulled themselves from consideration for events like Crown Jewel and Super Show-Down in 2019, and the assassination of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018 put heat on WWE's relationship with members of the nation's royal family and deal with Saudi government. This has led to jokes online that the events should be called "WWE Blood Money", with some also saying WWE should cancel the contract.

Money talks though.

McMahon isn't giving up on his lucrative deal as part of the General Sports Authority's 'Saudi Vision 2030' campaign, so get used to these annual events. In a perfect world, WWE would be able to crow about their international branding, but that's hardly realistic given the controversy over Saudi's approach to human rights.
