10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About 2020
6. Familiar Booking Woes For Ex-NXT Talent
The fate of numerous NXT stars on the "main roster" is like a running joke.
Wrestlers seem to get 'called up' to Raw or SmackDown willy nilly, pushed for a short spell and then either totally forgotten or repackaged. It happened with Shayna Baszler, Riddle and Keith Lee (and that's just for starters) alone in 2020. All seem like lesser attractions than they did on NXT.
Baszler's brief vampire act initially confused the hell out of her, but at least she's been portrayed as a bad ass. Riddle's entire existence has hinged on a crummy frostbite story to explain why he wrestles barefoot, and Keith Lee is another (like Otis) who has been tarred with the Performance Center demotion brush.
WWE may want everyone to forget that they booked Lee to beat Randy Orton clean as a whistle in less than seven minutes at Payback in August. That was perhaps the only time big Keith looked like he belonged on Monday nights.
