10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Alicia Fox
8. They Used Her To Script Negativity On Tough Enough
Back in 2011, Alicia Fox hit the headlines for her role on Tough Enough. No, she wasn't a cast member on the show, and no, she didn't actually make a cameo appearance at all. Instead, the headlines had to do with Steve Austin's reaction to one contestant saying Fox vs. Melina from an episode of Raw was her favourite match.
Austin, for his part, looked like he wanted to give the poor gal a Stunner.
The trainee in question was Ariane (who went on to play one half of The Funkadactyls as Cameron with Naomi), and she was totally confused by Austin's negative reaction. In her limited experience as a fan, Alicia vs. Melina was awesome, so she didn't see anything wrong with name-checking it as inspiration.
Austin's angry retort told the full story: WWE didn't matches like Fox vs. Melina as the kind of talents should be aspiring to mimic. Keep in mind the Tough Enough was a faux reality show, which means the writers back then willingly threw Alicia under the bus to show coach 'Stone Cold' getting annoyed.
