1. More Serious Allegations
After DeMott's WWE release in 2007, former Deep South Wrestling trainee Kevin Matthews posted a blog on hid MySpace account detailing his experience with Bill and his training methods. It was a damning account that painted the current head trainer of NXT in a very bad light. Matthews started by calling DSW 'hell' and saying that DeMott wasn't fit to train anyone for anything except 'all-you-can-eat competitions'. He also detailed the various injuries that wrestlers had suffered under DeMott's watch and said that DeMott played favourites and that if you kissed his a** you would get ahead. There were more stories and allegations, including a recounting of the incident where, sick of his behaviour and training, MVP offered to fight Bill for real, but DeMott backed down. Former head of developmental Mike Bucci (alias Simon Dean/Nova) confirmed Matthews' stories in his 2014 shoot interview, while also giving his own negative appraisal of DeMott. Five years later in 2012, after DeMott's rehiring and promotion to head trainer of FCW, Matthews took to Twitter with more allegations of abuse and misconduct. Matthews sent out a series of humorous (or Hugh Morrus) tweets as if they were from DeMott himself. Some of the highlights include: I tried to break Nick Mitchell's ankle (Spirit Squad Mitch) for no reason! Which is why he got switched to OVW. #DeMottcracy
John Cena's trainer Rob spoke out against me 3 weeks ago on how I was training the kids too hard. I got him fired 24hrs later. #DeMottcracy I make students do hindu squats on all 4 top turnbuckles whiles 2 guys are crisscrossing and hitting the ropes. COMPLETELY SAFE. #DeMottcracy
I made Angel Williams do 40 up and overs till she snapped her Patella tendon in half and was out for 9 months. TrueStory #DeMottcracy WWE hired Khali solely 2 feud with Taker. They needed him to learn how to work. I made him run miles. They were pissed. TrueStory #DeMottcracy Pretty sensational stuff. With the recent allegations only just being made public, it will be interesting to see if Matthews or any of DeMott's other former students come forward with more stories like these.
