10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Billy Gunn

10. The 2005 Shoot Interviews And Comments About Triple H

Whenever a talent is released from WWE, there is usually an offer to record a shoot interview, where the wrestler gives their unfiltered thoughts and opinions about everything to do with the business and their career. The content of the former WWE star shoots vary from those keeping their cards close to their chest and not wanting to bury anyone to those who aren't afraid to really shoot. Billy Gunn definitely falls into the latter category for after his 90-day no compete clause was up in March 2005, he gave a series of blistering interviews where he tore WWE to shreds. He claimed that he and Road Dogg were put together as a rib and that the backstage morale in WWE was at an all-time low. He reserved especially harsh criticism for his former DX teammate Triple H. Gunn said in an interview with Wrestling Epicentre that:
He€™s what holds people back, it€™s not talent. He gets threatened by guys that are better than him. He€™s just evil. That€™s what he is. But that€™s okay, because bad things happen to bad people.
He had more harsh things to say about The Game in his RF Video shoot and he and Road Dogg spent a good portion of their shoot running down Triple H, blaming him for their release. It should be noted that both were (self admittedly) going through rough times and there were illegal substances involved during the these recordings. Both Outlaws have since repented and publicly apologised to Triple H and work for WWE today, but they had some extremely harsh criticisms a decade ago. WWE won't want fans finding out what Billy Gunn really thought about the man who is now his boss.
