10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Bobby Lashley

5. His MMA Career

Lashley, despite boasting a superhuman physique alien to the general public, was ironically normalised through its similarity to Brock Lesnar's. He was thus fated to draw "Diet Lesnar" comparisons.

Playing up Lashley's own Mixed Martial-Arts exploits was a non-starter, in how relatively unimpressive they were. Lesnar dominated the octagon at the highest level by becoming the UFC Heavyweight Champion. In contrast, Lashley fought his way through the Sunday League MMA circuit, fulfilling the prophecy yet further.

Moreover, even if those victories over melts like Tony Melton were a selling point, they're not a USP; WWE's signature of Ronda Rousey further diminished by comparison Lashley's secondary career.

WWE would have to put over Bellator to put over Lashley's record in that organisation, should they wish to further legitimise the new mega-heel - a remote possibility.
