10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Carmella

1. Her Initial Babyface Run Was A Flop

Carmella is (for now; we'll see what happens now her 'Fabulous Glow' tag-team with Naomi has seemingly come to an end) a dance-break-loving, all-smiling babyface. This is a massive departure from her spoiled brat character as a heel, but it's not actually the first time she's played goody-two-shoes on WWE's main roster.

Rewind nearly three years to the summer of 2016 for her initial try.

After landing on SmackDown that July, she went about the task of convincing people she was a female version of the uber-hip Enzo Amore and Big Cass duo over on Raw. It...didn't go well. Within a week or two, she was already hearing some jeers for her over-enthusiastic delivery, hammy 'street talk' and watered-down version of an already-successful act.

WWE acted swiftly and turned Carmella heel a month later in mid-August. It was a mercy killing for her dorky face character, and it rescued an otherwise-doomed solo bow on Tuesday nights before it was too late.
