10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Dean Ambrose
1. He Wasn't That Great A Champion...
Dean Ambrose's long-awaited first WWE Championship reign began at Money In The Bank 2016 where, having won the briefcase earlier that same night, he cashed-in on Seth Rollins to become the new title-holder. His top dog status was cemented with a win in the 'Shield triple threat' at Battleground, before going on to defend the belt against Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.
Unfortunately, despite decent promo work on behalf of both men, the feud wasn't at all big enough to warrant a place on such a stacked card, and robbed both of a lot of momentum. Sadly Ambrose's title reign suffered, and he came under a lot of criticism before the belt was quickly shifted onto AJ Styles. Whether you agree with the negativity aimed at Dean during this period or not, it can't really be argued that his first spell with the WWE Championship won't be looked back upon favourably.
