10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Dolph Ziggler
4. Neither Of His World Title Reigns Did Anything For Him
Dolph is a six-time Intercontinental, two-time Tag-Team, two-time United States and two-time World Heavyweight Champion in WWE. Despite that success (he's the 22nd Triple Crown Champ in company history), most of his reigns came and went without much incident.
Well, in fairness, there were incidents, just not the in-ring ones Ziggler likely wanted.
His first World Title stint in 2011 lasted less than a few hours. Vickie Guerrero stripped Edge of the belt, handed it to Dolph and then watched as Edge regained it on the same episode of SmackDown. Two years later, he'd enjoy a 69-day reign, albeit temporarily.
Injuries robbed Ziggler of a meaningful spell as champ. Indeed, the only enduring moment of either reign was his MITB cash in the night after WrestleMania 29 in 2013. After that, thanks to concussions, it was all downhill and he lost the title back to Alberto Del Rio at Payback that June.
