10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Dolph Ziggler
5. He Has Projects Outside WWE
In the intro, it was said that Dolph is currently on a handshake deal with WWE. He hasn't been seen since entering the men's Royal Rumble match in January, and there's no known timescale for his return to TV. After almost 15 years of service to the promotion, Ziggler's career is in limbo.
It'd be interesting to peek inside his head and see where Dolph's mind is at now. He turned 38 years old last July, and he's yet to receive that sustained stint on top he's always craved. Looking at his situation plainly, and taking into account the opportunities Ziggler has created for himself outside WWE, there may be scope for a change of focus.
Between stand-up comedy, acting and appearances on the Fox Business Network, Dolph has external work.
This is a sensitive time for WWE. AEW's arrival on the stage has upped the need for wrestler control, and Dolph's imminent future is currently up in the air. It's not impossible that he'll decide to pursue projects away from the promotion.
