10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Eddie Guerrero

8. His Incredibly Gory Judgement Day Blade Job

Now that is a crimson mask. Eddie's completely OTT bladejob helped turn his WWE Title match with JBL from a decent brawl into a minor classic. After receiving a harsh chairshot at ringside, Eddie took scalpel to skin and, in the process of blading hit an artery. The results were shocking and added a lot of drama. The canvas was covered in claret. Eddie lost so much blood that, when the match was over, he went into shock backstage. Eddie refused a blood transfusion (which would have been the sensible option) but did let doctors sew the mammoth wound on his forehead. It required sixteen stitches to do so. Eddie's bladejob scared many backstage, including Vince McMahon. They weren't happy that Eddie got 'caught up in the moment' and were also understandably worried about his health. In these PG times, its very doubtful that WWE will air this footage on their broadcasts. It is available on the WWE Network, however.
