10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Jeff Hardy

2. Guitar On A Pole

This is a bit of a sidebar (there's more to come on that Sheamus feud, don't worry), but Elias aimed to get revenge the old-fashioned way. Did he try to crash a car into Jeff? Did the music man want a brutal street fight that'd settle matters? No and no.

He wanted 'Guitar On A Pole'.

Vince Russo supporters everywhere let out a cheer when WWE booked this unwanted gimmick bout on the 2 November 2020 Raw. It, apparently, was the only way Elias could avenge what had happened to him back on SmackDown in May. Not only was his vengeance rather late, it was also hamstrung by being a bloody 'On A Pole' stipulation.

Nobody wanted to see this. Also, Jeff and Elias had already wrestled at Hell In A Cell on pay-per-view. That was a straight up singles match, one which ended via DQ, and they followed it up with gimmickry rather than simply doing the stip bout at HIAC. Work that one out.
