10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Jinder Mahal
3. Jinder Concussed Finn Balor With An Errant Forearm
In that very match against Finn Balor, an unfortunate Jinder very nearly put his Irish colleague on the injury list all over again. Having just returned from a lengthy absence that curtailed his WWE Universal Title push, Balor must have been worried when he was seeing stars following a Mahal forearm on April 10.
Reports quickly revealed Finn had suffered a mild concussion in the match. In Mahal's defence, Balor did throw his head right into the mix during the move, and that made it difficult for Jinder to do anything other than clock him right in the side of the head. Regardless, injuring one of WWE's brightest hopes so soon after his return was a blemish on Mahal's copybook.
Had Balor been forced to take more time off, WWE's top brass may have even lost faith in Mahal's ability to work a main event run. That would've been harsh, but don't forget that Kofi Kingston was once demoted for hurting Randy Orton almost a decade ago. It's a good thing Finn is one tough cookie and bounced back swiftly.
