10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Jinder Mahal

Standing tall as The Modern Dar Maharaja on SmackDown Live, Jinder Mahal is the new WWE Champion. People are still reeling from his victory over Randy Orton at Backlash though, and it's amazing to watch the bout's finish and subsequent fan reaction to hear air being sucked out of the building. Seriously, some of those fan expressions were akin to The Undertaker's streak ending.

Right before WWE decided to back Jinder and push him to the moon, it cannot be forgotten that he was - for all intents and purposes - a jobber on the main roster. In the months preceding his crowning as champ, Mahal rarely picked up any wins and was even booked to look weak next to New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski at WrestleMania 33.

Even before that, Mahal was in a lacklustre tag-team with fellow struggler Rusev and lost to Finn Balor in just under 3 minutes on the April 10 edition of Raw. Talk about going nowhere, the new WWE Champion couldn't buy a win before WWE strapped a rocket to him.
