10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Kofi Kingston
6. He Wasn't In WWE's Plans

That hour-long spot Kofi worked miracles with in that SmackDown Gauntlet match has rejuvenated his entire WWE career. Somewhere back home with his family in Chicago, one Mustafa Ali must be applauding his peer with a tinge of sadness. It should've been Ali in that Gauntlet, not Kingston.
When concussion issues forced Mustafa to vacate his slot, Kofi gleefully stepped in and knocked it out of the park. Suddenly, just like Kingston back at No Way Out '09, Ali's star-enhancing moment was taken away from him. Worse, the fact he was injured for real meant he had no complaints with WWE's decision making.
In amongst all this hysteria around Kofi, it must be pointed out that he wasn't in WWE's plans before Ali went down. He barely had a workable program with his New Day buddies in the tag ranks never mind a sensational singles storyline on SmackDown.
Kingston's recent rise is down to him, not incredible booking.
