10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Kurt Angle
3. His Entire TNA Run
Vince McMahon is famous for conveniently ignoring anything that happened outwith his own company. As far as the Chairman is concerned, if it didn't happen in WWE, it didn't happen at all - particularly when it comes to TNA.
WWE have no-sold Impact's existence for much of the promotion's run, and only hint at the great things guys like Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, and AJ Styles accomplished there. Their continued avoidance of the subject manifested again at TLC 2017, when WWE promoted the main event as "Kurt Angle's first wrestling match in 11 years," which is complete garbage.
Kurt hopped to TNA shortly after departing WWE in 2006, and remained there all the way through to 2016. From there, Angle embarked on a brief tour of the indies before rejoining the promotion that made him famous in the first place, but deleting this portion of his legacy is daft.
Not only are WWE taking their audience for fools, but they're trying to rewrite history. Kurt was in TNA two years longer than WWE, and many argue that he's now more synonymous with the Nashville promotion than Vince McMahon's company. Fortunately, most wrestling fans are smart enough to see through the bulls***.
