5. That Awful Dolph Ziggler Angle

Apologies in advance are in order for reminding everyone of a storyline that could rightly be considered one of 2015's worst.

At the start of the year, things looked bright for Lana and Rusev. Together, they worked a powerful program with John Cena that peaked at WrestleMania 31, and it seemed possible that Rusev could recover from the United States Title loss to do something else memorable afterwards. He did, but not for the right reasons.

WWE's writers penned one of the most unwanted love stories of the summer by having Lana split from Rusev and align with new lover-boy Dolph Ziggler. Then, Summer Rae popped up out of nowhere in Lana's old outfits as Rusev's new lady friend. Meanwhile, Dolph tried to stick it to his Bulgarian foe by simultaneously snogging Lana and hitting on Raw.

Who was the babyface here?

Making things worse, the story was canned when TMZ picked up on some real-life developments between Rusev and Lana, who were (as if anybody didn't know) still together away from the cameras.
