10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Maryse
6. That Wet 'N' Wild Match
There have been many embarrassing, demeaning, and ignominious matches involving Divas in WWE. No doubt the company wishes for us to forget all of them now they realise it is vogue to treat women as, you know, real people and all that.
I'd like to forget them too, but there they are, squalid exercises in puerility that make one ashamed to be human. Every bra and panties match ever. Every 'match' involving Terri Runnels. Oh, and this throwaway 'Wet 'n' Wild' contest on SmackDown as recently as 2008.
What a travesty. Four vapid women gamboling aimlessly in the ring, vaguely aiming water balloons at one another, with the unclear objective of, oh God who even knows. Maryse is in there, Lord knows which team. She gets suitably saturated.
It's horrible, sodden stuff, ending with Michelle McCool suddenly performing a brutal lifting double underhook facebuster on Victoria for the pin.
'It's just harmless fun, it's not degrading!', you might say.
No, it IS degrading.
