10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Matt Bloom

8. The Time Brock Lesnar Almost Killed Him

But it's not like A-Train couldn't sympathise with Benoit, since earlier that year he had had his very own close call when WWE Champion Brock Lesnar dumped him on his head with an F-5. The incident happened on an episode of Smackdown in April 2003. Lesnar, for some reason, decided to run around in a circle before delivering his famous finisher. Instead of landing on his front like he was supposed to, A-Train instead landed right on top of his head. The footage, which is apparently from a post-show dark match, was used by Cena to encourage A-Train to take Lesnar out during the Cena/Lesnar feud of 2003. It was a truly scary moment and it's a miracle that Bloom didn't require major, let alone minor, surgery because of it. He's lucky he could even walk at all, as he very nearly ended up paralysed like his ex-partner Droz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=481BctGZ5zA
