Chris Jericho and Edge were a surprise addition to the WWE Tag Team Championship match at The Bash, beating The Colons to win the titles. Fans were excited about the prospect of a brand-new superteam involving the charismatic Canadians, but shortly after the win, Edge tore his Achilles tendon. He was put on the shelf and forced to give up his half of the Tag Team Titles.

Jericho - who was slated to defend the titles against The Legacy at Night of Champions - got the opportunity to name a new championship partner, and he would unveil him at the PPV. Fans' imaginations ran wild - whomever Jericho picked would not only become an automatic champion, but he would have the benefit of working with one of the best talents in the world. Which up-and-coming star would get the honour?

It turned out to be The Big Show, disappointing just about everyone - not only was a younger star not getting a rub, but Big Show would actively drag down the quality of their upcoming matches. While the JeriShow team actually turned out to be surprisingly successful, there's no question that it was ultimately a wasted opportunity, and that the reveal was a letdown.
