10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Randy Orton

8. He Was Pissed Off At Kofi On-Air

If you mess up a spot with Randy Orton on TV, it seems he has no problem letting you know about it. Not in the locker room either, right in the middle of the ring!

Kofi Kingston was a potential star in the making in WWE in 2009, and the company placed him in a big program with Orton to try and take him to that next level. During a triple threat match on Raw featuring the two and John Cena, something went wrong with the finish. It’s not quite clear what that was, but when Orton did his “slap the mat a bunch of times” routine he uses to set up the RKO he was being extra aggressive.

When Kofi rose to his feet, Orton shook his head for a moment in anger before connecting with his finisher. Instead of going for the pin he yelled “Stupid! Stupid!” and was visibly upset about something. He won the match, but absolutely didn’t look pleased with the victory. It was an unprofessional moment that probably would have got a less popular wrestler quite the earful backstage. But Orton being Orton, it was a relatively minor blow-up in his career.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
