10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Randy Orton

3. He Claimed Eddie Was In Hell

Everybody loved Eddie Guerrero! Fans, management and fellow wrestlers all seemed to have a soft spot in their heart for him, which is why his untimely death at the age of 38 hit everyone so hard.

WWE aired two classy tribute shows to Eddie, so we could come to terms with what happened and to honor his memory. They should have left it at that. Sadly, in one of the company's most offensive storylines ever, they simply wouldn’t let Eddie rest in peace. They made his unexpected death part of a feud between Orton and Rey Mysterio and then later Orton and The Undertaker. It wasn’t exactly in his honor either, as on an episode of SmackDown, Orton told Eddie's long time friend Rey that he shouldn’t be looking up to find Eddie...because Eddie is in hell. F**k that!

The outcry was loud and swift, and while Orton's character kind of walked back what he said, the company still moved forward with the tasteless angle. Only 16 days after the wrestlers’ death, Orton had stolen Eddie’s beloved low rider car and blew the damn thing up when he drove it into the set in an attempt to kill The Undertaker! Again, f**k that!

Considering how horrifying the entire story was, WWE would definitely like you to forget that it ever happened.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
