WWE has a habit of taking someone, even someone who may have been successful elsewhere in the past, and modifying them even just slightly. This is their way of making them a 'WWE' superstar. It can be something as subtle as a haircut or a change of wrestling gear, but WWE wants their wrestles to have a WWE identity and nothing else. It could even be something as simple as changing one letter of a superstars name. That's what happened to Rhino, who became Rhyno when he moved from ECW to the WWF. Why they had to add an, erm, Y to his name, is anyone's guess. As previously mention it was probably just to remove the 'ECW vibe' from him and make him more of a WWF wrestler. Plus, then they could own the copyright. He reverted back to Rhino for his TNA run. WWE won't want any miss-spellings if he's going to become a WWE performer again.
