10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Roman Reigns
3. The Royal Rumble 2015 Fiasco
The 2015 Royal Rumble was the tipping point in terms of Reigns-hate. If it was a possibility, I'm sure WWE would love to re-shoot the finish of the PPV with a live studio audience, or even strike everything but the result from history and wait for everyone to forget about it. The show, held in front of a notoriously passionate Philadelphia crowd, must surely be considered one of the worst-received in WWE history. Fans were absolutely clamouring for Daniel Bryan to win the Rumble and progress to the main event of WrestleMania 31, and their discontent can be seen as a perverse testament to his astonishing popularity in recent years. Reigns' win symbolised WWE trying to choose the fans' opinion for them, rather than actually listening to what they wanted. Even the late appearance of the Rock was seen as a cheap ploy to try and trick a positive response from the crowd - and when Dwayne Freakin' Johnson can't get an arena to pop, you know there's been a seriously bad booking decision.
