10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Seth Rollins

5. CM Punk's Stable

Rollins debuted for WWE at the 2012 Survivor Series. He was part of a new stable called The Shield, and quite frankly, they looked ridiculous. Initially, the group were derided as a little too gimmicky, clad in their swat team gear and shooting handycam videos. They looked like The Big Boss Man in their jumpsuit security get-up. Despite the initial concerns, The Shield ended up getting over. Spectacular performances in six man matches ensured that all three men made big impressions in the WWE. The company hasn't been shy about detailing this past, celebrating the faction as one the all time great wrestling groups. But what they'll want you to forget is the initial idea to have them as CM Punk's stable. The three men did run-ins to help Punk stay WWE Champion and were set to combine with Punk in a new mega heel stable. However, WWE ended up instead booking The Shield as "CM Punk's mercenaries" and ended up spinning them away as their own act. You'll never see the Punk associations coming up, not after the star quit the company abruptly last January. Anything Punk related is now white washed from history where possible.
