10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About SummerSlam
3. It Was Supposed To Be HHH Vs. Kevin Nash
Remember the hair-raising unsanctioned street fight shared by Triple H and a returning Shawn Michaels at SummerSlam 2002? The Heartbreak Kid's first match in more than four years, long after his chances of ever returning to the ring had been dismissed by medical professionals?
Well - according to some - we only got that match because Kevin Nash, who was supposed to be fighting Triple H, got injured. And if you caught any of Kevin Nash's matches with 'The Game' the following year (including a torturous Hell in a Cell encounter at Bad Blood), then you'll be extra grateful for Shawn's miraculous recovery.
Had the slot as Triple H's SummerSlam opponent never opened up, who knows how recent WWE history may have changed. Maybe HBK would never have been emboldened to return, and fans would in turn have been denied a string of classic matches over the next eight years?
