10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Sunny

2. Getting Arrested Multiple Times

Sunny was arrested six times from September 2012 to January 2013. A lot of it was due to her issues with an ex-boyfriend named Damien Darling, who is an indy wrestler. At one point she was arrested five times over four weeks and also three days in a row as well. Her arrests were for disorderly conduct, third degree burglary and three counts of violating a protective order. When she violated a protective order again in January 2013, she had to serve jail time for 114 days. In May 2013 she was released and revealed that while she was in jail she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer. She ended up having a hysterectomy soon after, so she was cancer free. To say that she had hit rock bottom at that point in her life would be an understatement. It was a really bad time for her and very humiliating for anybody associated with her. The fact that she was so mad at this ex-boyfriend that she would do things leading to her getting arrested multiple times is pretty crazy. The good news is she's behaved for the most part over the last two years and hasn't violated any terms of her release. From WWE's perspective, all of these arrests are very embarrassing for them because they got picked up by the mainstream news. Every time people write about her they'll mention she's a WWE Hall of Famer, so that puts a bad image on the company. That's bad press that WWE doesn't want. It's why you almost never hear them talk about Sunny on WWE TV.
