10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Sunny

5. She Was Fired By WWE Due To Missing Appearances

Sunny's run in WWE was pretty short considering she signed in late 1995 and was fired by July 1998. Why would they fire a 25 year old that was gorgeous and very talented? There were a few reasons. The reason she got fired was because she had a painkiller addiction or there were concerns that she was developing a problem. In addition to that, she was missing a lot of her appearances. If you're booked for an appearance WWE sets it up and takes care of the flight, but if somebody doesn't make it there then it's on that performer. Apparently it was so bad that WWE felt the need to fire her for it. Here's how Sunny explained it on WWE.com in a "Where Are They Now?" feature in 2011 about her: "At the time, they were lending me out to . I did a couple of shows with them and I was having so much fun. So stupid, young, naïve me, I was on an ECW pay-per-view and I said, 'This is my new home.' And WWE found out about it and I had my release by fax the next day." Her story may have some truth to it, but it's unlikely that would be the only reason to fire her. WWE let her work there once in a while with her boyfriend Chris Candido. They likely didn't care that she liked being in ECW. The part about her missing appearances is probably more of the cause of her release. Chances are if Sunny was paired with a performer that was doing a lot of great work or if they had some substantial role for her then she probably would have lasted in WWE longer. Instead, they felt like cutting her loose because they weren't doing a lot with her and she was causing problems for Sable.
