10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Sunny

4. The Not So Secret Affair With Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels was the top guy in WWE in 1996 and he apparently had a not so secret affair with Sunny at the time. Shawn wasn't married at the time and neither was Sunny, but she was dating Chris Candido, who worked for WWE as Skip. Apparently a relationship developed with Shawn and Sunny that lasted about eight months to a year depending on what version of the story Sunny wants to tell. She did a lot of shoot interviews in her career, so in the late 2000s she had no problem telling the stories about Shawn. According to her, things with Shawn were just for fun on the road and they would get together at shows too although she has said that they thought about living together at one point too. She even specifically said that Vince McMahon would let them use their office so they could have their private time away from everybody else. What a boss! Apparently, Candido either knew about it and didn't care or he had no idea it was going on. There are interviews with him from before his death in 2005 where he thought that nothing happened with them. That doesn't mean he's right. She also admitted to having an affair with Davey Boy Smith when he was married too. Apparently a lot of people didn't know about that and she claims they were merely just friends. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T16HHBVl2wI As for Shawn, he has never talked about his relationship with Sunny. Shawn got married in 1999, has two kids and became a Born Again Christian that likely never wants to talk about what happened with her or get too detailed about any of the stupid decisions he made in his life. It's understandable why he would feel that way. Sunny also played a big part in Shawn's rivalry with Bret Hart because Shawn fired off the "Sunny Days" line to suggest Bret (who was married) was having an affair with Sunny. Bret wasn't doing anything with her - even Sunny admits nothing happened with them - but that set Bret off because it upset his wife. In his book, Bret admitted to being with a lot of women on the road although he has denied the Sunny rumors. WWE kept the Shawn/Sunny story under wraps for all these years and probably won't ever talk about it again.
