10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Teddy Long

The 18 September 2009 episode of SmackDown will forever go down in history for featuring one of the cheesiest segments in WWE history. Restarting a match between The Undertaker and CM Punk at Breaking Point, Long assessed that the Hell's Gate submission move had been banned. This would cost 'Taker the chance to once again become World Heavyweight Champion.

A crude mimicking of the 'Montréal Screwjob' was then staged, with Teddy at the centre of the storm. Ordered to explain his actions by Vince McMahon on SmackDown, Long did so and then attempted to leave the building. This was when WWE produced one heck of a hammy skit.

Stepping into a limousine, Long was horrified to see that Undertaker was the driver. Uttering the dreadfully silly 'Buckle up, Teddy' line, Undertaker then kidnapped the assistant General Manager as Long helplessly yelled to be let out of the vehicle.

The whole debacle had a comedic vibe, which didn't appear to be intentional. Instead of putting either man over, it undermined the entire story.
