10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Hardcore Title

1. That 'Evening Gown' Match Between The Stooges

Not short enough to save eyes from the absurd 'Evening Gown Hardcore' match at the 2000 King Of The Ring. Whoever decided to dress Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson up in drag (we're looking at you, Vince McMahon) should have been forced to refund fan ticket money.

Is there a worse sight on this planet than seeing Patterson wear lingerie and attempt to give a similarly-clad Brisco the Rikishi Stink Face? Possibly not, but at least the fans had fun. That is, if sitting on one's hands and wondering what non-wrestling friends would be thinking could be accurately described as fun.

The only surprise here is that this match didn't outright kill off the Hardcore Title permanently. By the time Crash Holly ran in to steal the win on a grounded Patterson and run off with the belt, the live crowd had seen enough.

Trish Stratus vs. Lita this was not, as hard as The Stooges tried.
