10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Miz

5. Ric Flair Bestowed The Figure Four On Him

Remember when TNA tried to turn AJ Styles into the second coming of Ric Flair in 2010? That was terrible, right? You'd never see that kind of nonsense in WWE. Oh, wait, we did, and it happened just three years later. In early-2013, WWE turned The Miz babyface and had the bright idea of sprinkling some 'Nature Boy' fairy dust on him.

At first glance, that's not the worst idea in the world. Flair has always been a respected legend, and his star power has been used many times in the past to enhance others (like Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, and virtually every other Four Horsemen member post-1985). WWE should have stopped at a simple endorsement though, because they totally didn't need to gift Miz the Figure Four.

Seeing Miz flop around with Ric, put Cesaro in the Figure Four and do his best 'Woo' was cringeworthy at best, and it did nothing to endear Miz to fans as a likeable hero. Flair was turned babyface because fans decided he was great, not because a legend of the past told him he could start using their moves.
