10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The TLC PPV

10. It Can't Compete With Hell In A Cell

As mentioned in the introduction, WWE created several themed PPV concepts in 2009. Some, like Bragging Rights and Breaking Point, didn't last, but Hell in a Cell and TLC have endured. That's not much of a surprise - after all, those two match types have been host to some of the most memorable moments from the company's past two decades. Unfortunately for WWE, the fans don't see the shows as equal. Every single year since they were created, the Hell in a Cell show has done better business than TLC. There are many potential reasons why - everything from the fact that Hell in a Cell was more of a main event-level stipulation prior to the individual shows' creation, to the fact TLC takes place during the holiday season - but the fact remains that Hell in a Cell is the victor when it comes to traditional PPV buys. Some years it's been close, but most of the time it hasn't. As Hell in a Cell 2015 drew the highest "B-show" buyrate of the year thus far, there's no reason to expect this to change any time soon.
