10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Tough Enough

4. Former Winner Was In Rehab

Whatever happened to original Tough Enough winner Maven Huffman, anyway? The guy was being groomed for superstardom at one point. WWE wouldn't allow just anyone to eliminate The Undertaker from the Royal Rumble, you know. Then in 2003/4 it looked like he was going to become a member of Evolution and form an association with Triple H. And then...nothing. Maven's career just kind of petered out (as he was jobbed out). After his July 2005 release, Maven hit the indie scene and did some shows for the TNA-affiliated UWF but, after that he just kind of disappeared from the wrestling business. So what was actually up to? Developing a serious addiction to oxycodone and hydrocodone, by all accounts. Maven was arrested in Florida in 2012 after he had been caught 'doctor shopping' (going to various doctor's offices to get more pills than he was prescribed). He was released on a $2,000 bond and faced up to five years in jail. Realising he needed help, Maven underwent WWE-sponsored rehab and cleaned himself up. He now works in medical sales and has recently begun appearances on the convention circuit. Still, WWE won't want people knowing that their inaugural winner became an addict and ended up in rehab.
