10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Vader
2. WCW Handled Him Better Than They Did
Something that must irk WWE management is the knowledge that World Championship Wrestling booked Vader better than they ever did.
From 1990-1995, Big Van Vader was an absolute monster in WCW, bagging the World Title 3 times and routinely being portrayed as the top heel in the promotion. He'd rarely come close to that success in the WWF/WWE.
It wasn't until the likes of Hulk Hogan entered WCW that Vader's star power in the company started to diminish. Before then, he was part of the elite in the upper card, protected and presented as a true headliner.
By contrast, Vader only had a very brief period of main event success in the WWF, and he'd never win the WWF Heavyweight Title.
When analysing his run in both organisations, it becomes crystal clear that Vader was more at home in WCW. There were few complaints about his stiff style in that company, and he was made to look like a constant threat to everyone.
At no point during his WCW career was Vader a regular mid card attraction, he was a star. The same cannot be said for his WWF run, which felt like a failure by comparison.
