5. His Very Short-Lived Relationship With Layla

Unlike his partnership with Eugene, this pairing wasn't so much offensive as completely ill-advised. In 2008, Regal began a feud with Jamie Noble over the affections of Layla. The Brit eventually won the feud, departing with his new love interest. Despite both being English, any other potential similarities between Regal and Layla didn't come across well onscreen - the pair didn't have great chemistry at all. It's almost as if they were hastily thrown together on account of their nationalities by an unimaginative creative team (but that surely wouldn't happen in WWE, would it?). Additionally, it didn't help that off camera, Regal had been married for over 20 years - a marriage which still carries on to this day.
