10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania 27

9. The Corre In Action

In the years between the Money in the Bank match and the WrestleMania battle royal, WWE struggled to fit as many competitors as possible on the WrestleMania card. In 2011, that attempt took the form of an eight-man tag team match that pitted The Corre against Kane, The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, and Santino Marella. The Corre, as a refresher, was a group that spun out of The Nexus after Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, and Heath Slater left Raw for Smackdown and joined forces with Ezekiel Jackson. It's an understatement to say that the group never reached the heights of its predecessor, and all in all, The Corre only served to hammer home the fact that the Nexus idea had been a huge failure. The group's match with the makeshift tandem lasted a mere 95 seconds, ending when Big Show pinned Heath Slater after a knockout punch. Following the bout, the winners celebrated, with Kane - who had savagely attacked The Undertaker only months prior - turning babyface by imitating Marella's trombone dance.
