10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania 29
2. Fans Didn't Want To See The Rock Endorse Cena
Heading into Rock-Cena II, one thing was perfectly clear: this time, it would be Big Match John who walked away the victor. Though The Rock's win in Miami sent the crowd home happy, failure by Cena to avenge his loss would make the company's modern product look weaker than the Attitude Era. As the main event drew to a close, Cena hit The Rock with a third Attitude Adjustment, finally pinning him to win the WWE Championship. The program then came to an end as The Rock extended his hand in an endorsement of the new champ and Cena gleefully took it. The pair walked up the ramp together, holding their arms high. It was the ending that the story demanded, but the crowd didn't want to see it. Much like the Miami fans the year before, the crowd in New Jersey wanted nothing more than to see The Rock defeat Cena. When Cena won, they were disappointed, and when The Rock endorsed him they were downright angry. It was one of the rare WrestleManias to end with a chorus of boos.
