10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania 29
3. CM Punk Really Did Have The Best Match On The Show
CM Punk walked out of WWE in early 2014 after becoming disillusioned with his role in the company and a general lack of happiness with the way things were run. In June, he was officially released from WWE and in November he appeared on best friend Colt Cabana's podcast to finally air his dirty laundry. Among other things, Punk was upset by the fact that all of his hard work hadn't led to a WrestleMania show-closing main event, his ultimate goal in wrestling. He lobbied unsuccessfully to be added to the Cena/Rock match, then decided that he would steal the show with The Undertaker. He claimed that after WrestleMania 29 ended, he was told by others in the company that he and The Undertaker should have gone on last. Should that match have been the main event? It's up for debate, given that it wasn't for the WWE Championship, but one point is undeniable - Punk's match was, by far, the best bout of the evening. It can be argued that he and Undertaker saved the show from being a total washout, and Punk's contribution will be plain to see for anyone who watches WrestleMania 32.
