10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania 29
4. Triple H Beat Brock Lesnar
In case you've forgotten, Brock Lesnar is the one in 21-1, the mayor of Suplex City, and the most dominant WWE superstar of all time. He ended The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak, squashed John Cena to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and only lost the belt when Seth Rollins pinned Roman Reigns. Even though Lesnar's been phased out of the title picture over the past year, he still doesn't lose matches. That wasn't WWE's philosophy when "The Beast" first returned to the company, mind. He was defeated by John Cena in his first match back (though that was reportedly due to questions about Lesnar's commitment to WWE), then moved on to a feud with Triple H. Lesnar submitted the COO at SummerSlam 2012, setting the stage for a rematch at WrestleMania 29. This time, "The Game" would put his career on the line. Like at SummerSlam, the two had a slow, disjointed contest that saw Triple H unable to take the punishment that typically makes Lesnar's matches so compelling. After nearly 24 minutes of inaction, Triple H Pedigreed Lesnar on the steel ring steps and pinned him, 1-2-3. It's unthinkable that Lesnar would suffer such a loss now, but back then, the company didn't seem entirely sure of the best way to use him. Most likely, they regret "The Beast's" defeat at the event and would rather fans didn't think too much about it.
