As Graves bounced around various jobs trying to make ends meet as a professional wrestler, he spent a large amount of time also on the tattoo bench, and it was here that he learnt how to pierce professionally. Graves was interested in piercings as well as tattoos and the guy who frequently inked the future NXT Tag Team Champion offered to teach Graves how to pierce properly, helping him get accredited in the process.

This allowed Graves to find a full-time job that also gave him plenty of time off to head off around the country and wrestle for a living. Before making it to WWE Graves frequently talked up how important this side of life was to him, as he knew full well that professional wrestling was never going to make him rich. If the squared circle didn't work out he would at least have the piercing industry to fall back on.

Fortunately, Graves managed to carve out a vital niche for himself in professional wrestling, and it is unlikely that he'll have to return to the piercing chair any time soon.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
