10 Things You Didn't Know About Corey Graves

3. Graves Competed In WWE A Decade Ago

Way before Corey Graves came into existence, the man known as Sterling James Keenan featured on WWE TV on a number of occasions performing enhancement duties. He didn't experience anything close to success, but the exposure was more than likely enough for the young superstar.

Keenan teamed with Jon Bolen to take on The Pitbulls (Jamie Noble and Kid Kash) on an episode of Velocity in June 2006, a squash match that is notable only for Keenan having the temerity to kick out at one against Kash and subsequently get the tar beaten out of him by the veterans. The match had a terrible ending, with Kash pinning Bolen after doing nothing more than running into the man at speed.

Perhaps more notably, Keenan actually teamed with none other than The Voice of the Voiceless himself in another dark match. Keenan and CM Punk paired up to take on the Gymini before an episode of SmackDown in April 2006, unsurprisingly coming up short against the oft-forgotten twins.

Our man also got squashed by Val Venis and Mark Henry before signing a developmental deal in 2011.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
