6. Brian Pillman Was Supposed To Steal Marlena

One of Goldust's most famous feuds was with Brian Pillman, but sadly Pillman didn't live to see its conclusion. Throughout the summer of 1997, Pillman chased Marlena (Goldust's manager, who had been outed as his wife in a bid to downplay the homosexual overtones of the gimmick) and attempted to make her his 'trophy'.

According to Goldust himself during one shoot interview, Pillman was eventually supposed to get Marlena in the end so she could be moved away from her husband. This would have followed a Marlena heel turn, giving the 'Loose Cannon' his girl and continuing the rivalry between both men. Sadly, Pillman would pass away before that could happen.

It's actually confusing that the WWF would want to remove Marlena from Goldust's side, especially if they were concerned about the accusations and wanted to diminish the creepy aura Dustin Rhodes had worked so hard to cultivate. That was the plan, though, but it would never come to fruition.
