On The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson, Carson was famous for allowing young comedians to come sit next to him on the couch if he was impressed enough with their act. Not many men and women received this honor, which made it a huge deal for those who were called over. It’s estimated that in his decades of hosting the show only about 15 comedians received that honor on their first performance.

While perhaps not as legendary as Carson, Vince McMahon doesn’t often acknowledge the wrestlers after their matches. That’s due in part to him being so incredibly busy during the show, but you can imagine he's seen it all during his time in the business, and perhaps not many wrestlers stand out to him anymore. Ellsworth did.

After his first match with the company, he was personally greeted by Vince who sought him out and told him “You killed it kid”, as he revealed in his AMA on Reddit. When he again told that story on Chris Jericho's podcast, Y2J revealed that is definitely something that doesn’t happen very often.

It was a nice gesture by the boss, and you can tell that he's a fan of the man's work at the moment, otherwise he wouldn't bother to keep bringing him back.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
