10 Things You Didn't Know About Teddy Long
2. He Lost A Hair Vs Hair Match Despite Being Bald
Entering WCW's May 1990 'Capital Combat' show as a loathed heel, Teddy walked into his Hair vs Hair match against Paul Ellering with little left to lose, and was still gamely shorn in the aftermath.
Squaring off with the manager of the Road Warriors, the vain Long entered covering what little he still had on top with protective boxing head gear and matching gloves, despite there being no pugilism stipulation nor storyline build-up to justify it.
Wailing on the physically superior Ellering with overhand rights and lefts, Long scored a two-count with a big right hand, but 'Precious Paul' was able to remove Teddy's glove to discover it was loaded, then use it himself to score the easy victory.
The haircut was as laughable as the brawl, with 'famous' hairstylist Jay Tapper ringside for the job to give Long some brief clippings to his remaining locks, before Teddy bailed to the back hiding his apparent shame.
