10 Things You Didn’t Know About Bullet Club

5. AJ Styles & Finn Balor Never Crossed Paths

Kenny Omega is still one IWGP Heavyweight Championship victory away from becoming Bullet Club’s most influential leader. At the moment, Bálor (the group’s founder) and Styles (a two-time champion under the BC imprint) share that honour, and while the two stand-out as the group’s most notable figures, they have never actually crossed paths within the Club.

Bálor’s spell on top ended the night AJ debuted. It was at Invasion Attack 2014 when the Irishman finally left the group (and the company), and Styles’ first appearance came less than an hour later. The former TNA icon attacked reigning IWGP Champion Kazuchika Okada following a midcard tag team match, aligned himself with Fale and Tonga, and became the group’s new focal point.

Styles’ debut wasn’t entirely well-received at the time, but he went on to become one of NJPW’s biggest stars. He and Bálor were involved in something of a Bullet Club “reunion” segment at WWE SummerSlam 2016, but they were never united in the first place. Sure, they have shared history with the Club, but mutual allies are the only thing binding them together.

If they eventually work together in WWE, it’ll effectively be a first-time affair, not a revival.
