While Conor McGregor will be forever linked to the sport of mixed martial arts, being a professional fighter isn't the only job title he's ever held.

At the age of 17, he dropped out of school to become a plumber's apprentice, as his father had suggested.

The gig sometimes consisted of 15-hour workdays. Moreover, it involved undesirable tasks (other than working with toilets) like fetching lunch for his co-workers. After about 18 months on the job, McGregor decided to hang up his plunger and try his hand at becoming a professional fighter.

Though his family wasn't pleased with his decision, McGregor assured them he would be a millionaire by the time he was 25. His father responded with laughter.

Technically, McGregor failed to deliver on his promise; he would become a millionaire at the age of 26.
